Week 93 - Multizone Week!

This week was the once-a-transfer multi-zone conference. As always, it was great to hear and learn from President Vega, who always shows us how we can be better missionaries. This conference was also a special one for me, as it was the last time I would see a lot of the missionaries in the group that head out in 3 weeks. A lot of those guys have become like brothers to me, and I'm going to miss them a lot.

“We must not falter nor weary in well-doing. We must lengthen our stride. Not only is our own eternal welfare at stake, but also the eternal welfare of many of our brothers and sisters who are not now members of this, the true Church. I thrill to the words of the Prophet Joseph Smith in a letter that he sent to the Church from Nauvoo on September 6, 1842: 'Shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward. … Courage … and on, on to the victory!”

Week 92

¡¡Matrimonio y bautismo!!

This last Friday, we had the opportunity this week to be guests at Yefri and Diana's wedding! What a great experience that was to be there and to see them take that important step in their lives. As Yefri gave a few words to everyone who attended the wedding, he began to choke up as he looked from across the room at me and my companion, and thanked us (the elders) for helping him change and become a new person.

The next day, Yefri was baptized! Man, it was so great to finally see Yefri enter into those waters. As I always say, it has been a huge miracle for me to see the great change in Yefri, and to see just how happy he is. It has been such a blessing to have played a small part of his conversion to the Lord, and see just how happy of a person he has become. He is so special to me. Yefri and Diana now have plans to be sealed in the temple in about a year from now. I know I have cited this scripture before, however as I think of Yefri and the amazing changes that hes made in his life and as well as the pure happiness I see in him, these words of king Benjamin come into my mind:

"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it." (Mosiah 2:41)

The End of an Adventure

Well, it has been a crazy, and heart-wrenching week. I am honestly without words. I never expected there to be more tears in returning ...
